9 steps to be a boss

A little old fashioned, a little modern ...

agreed!

You Belong in Amsterdam

A little old fashioned, a little modern - you're the best of both worlds. And so is Amsterdam.
Whether you want to be a squatter graffiti artist or a great novelist, Amsterdam has all that you want in Europe (in one small city).

羅曼菲如是說.../Luo, Man-Fei said...

“I often told the young dancers that if the joy of dancing is not the repayment of dancing (to you), then, stop dancing, ‘cause you’ll certainly be unable to go on dancing. We do it with passion, and that’s enough. We enjoy ourselves to the full, and that’s worthwhile.” [translated from Chinese to English by Lin, Yu-Hua]

“I think when you’re involved in something you really enjoy very much, you’ll be surprised that ten years or twenty years have gone by suddenly looking back on the past. You don’t think about why you didn’t 'make a decision' at that time. Actually, I have to frankly admit that first I didn’t make a 'life plan', and secondly I didn’t choose to be a dancer. I just look back on the past and find myself a dancer already.” [translated from Chinese to English by Lin, Yu-Hua]

your life path number is 4

true...
ture...
so true...

Your Life Path Number is 4

Your purpose in life is to build your vision.

You are practical and responsible. You work hard, knowing that there are no shortcuts in life.
You work for a better life for yourself and those you love, but you are not an idealist.
Trustworthy and honest, you also demonstrate great courage. People can count on you.

In love, you are a loyal and committed partner. You are the ideal spouse.

You don't give up easily, and sometimes you can be too stubborn and unwilling to change.
You also can be too conservative at times. You sometimes miss out on good opportunities.
Also remember that not everyone can work as hard as you, as disappointing as that is!

you play it cool

no, i'm not HOT.
i'm COOL.

You Play it Cool

You're not in your face, smokin' hot... and it's all by design
You have a carefully crafted cool persona, leaving everyone wanting to know just a little more.

happy mother's day, amber!

I picked out a card in a bookstore for Amber, a young mother and my associate before going to my class at 7:00 yesterday evening. She teaches in the classroom next to mine every Tuesday evening. We've seen each other for a couple of times.

This is what I wrote in the card:

"Dear Amber,
Nice Meeting you!
Happy Mother's Day!

(It would be embarrasing if I sent you a Mother's Day card. So, here it is, a card for a universal use.)"

...........................................

If you plan to say "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" to your co-worker or friend by sending a card , you'd better pick out a PROPER one. Choose a universal card and write some greeting along with "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" in it. That's it! That's all! DON'T SEND A MOTHER'S DAY CARD to her. :-)

Another GOOD way to kill time while taking a train

Last Saturday morning at 9:58 I got on a local train. Its next and final stop was Xin-Zhu, and so was mine. I noticed that the train was so crowded. Well, It’s a Saturday morning, not unusual. I looked around for a bit. Not after a long while did I find that there were 10 people or so looking out of the windows and drawing on blank sheets. Um…. They’re students. They’re attending a class on a train instead of in a classroom. My guess was right! One student told the teacher that somebody was absent, and then the teacher told another student to keep on working/drawing. I heard the teacher said she had a bunch of sheets with her drawings on. She drew whenever she’s in a car, on a train, on a bus, etc. She recorded what she saw quickly in this way on her way from one place to another/the other. She said she liked to do it when she’s sitting beside the driver in a car. That sounded cool! Instead of nagging the driver, have fun drawing! The student that I kept watching drew pretty fast. One sheet, one scene/picture. She’s tired of standing or drawing the moving scenes outside of the windows? She sat down and started to draw people in front of her. I was not standing in front of her, or I would probably ask her for that drawing. The train stopped at Xin-Zhu Station at 10:15. I headed to my 10:30 class. Where did they go? I didn’t know. But they inspired me. Maybe I should take some blank sheets and a pencil with me next time.
