Core of Practice （Hymn to Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy）
(Accompanied by the hymn, one enters into meditation. Unification of the physical organism’s being at rest and the mind’s seeing clearly and resting in nature of the Void/immaterial nature are the most important.)
Guanyin/Goddess of Mercy, your blessings beyond words may hardly repaid.
You, pure and dignified, have sought truth for innumerable kalpas/aeons/long periods of time.
You stayed in too many lands and played thirty two roles.
You endeavored to save lost lambs over trillions of years.
You spread Buddha’s thoughts embodied in the sweet dew from the vase everywhere.
You cured sentient beings’ diseases without knowing the lapse of time.
You brought aid to those who asked for help in a timely manner.
You have long been the boat crossing the ocean of misery.
